1. Can Use iPad 2 in Kitchen
Belkin has fulfilled a need by providing a mount for iPad 2 to be used in kitchen. It is good product but has a few shortcomings that you need to be aware of. There is no cover for iPad; it is only for iPad 2 and the original iPad is too thick for it and does not have the magnet to hold it; the strips that hold the cover have to be set for an hour; and it will probably be more secure screwed on to a wall or cabinet. Other alternatives to it include Belkin Kitchen Stand and Wand for Tablets (F5L099tt), Belkin Under Cabinet Mount for iPad and Tablets (F5L100tt) and Chef Sleeve - which is not available at Amazon as of now.

2. It fell off the fridge!!
It was great for about a month or so... It did exactly what it was supposed to do but within a month's time it completely just fell right off the fridge. Thankfully without my iPad attached. I wouldn't buy another one.

Secure, useful mount, that is well-designed
I installed this mount in less than 10 minutes on a stationary cabinet door in the kitchen. My spouse likes to listen to news radio and music while in there, and was uncomfortable having the iPad on the countertop. Now she can insert the iPad into the mount and have full access to the controls. The design is very good. Basically, a good quality plastic with white matte finish. A removable plate on the back is placed where you want the mount. The plate has 4 designated areas where the adhesive strips are applied. When the adhesive is exposed, the plate is pressed against the surface for 30 seconds, then the mount is installed over the plate until it clicks into place. This is left for 1 hour for the adhesive to fully set. The adhesive strips are designed so they may later be removed by pulling on them across the surface. There are tabs that help you do this. These are 3M strips, and not some off-brand product. I haven't done this yet, of course, but I feel that the underlying surface...

1. Does as intended, marketing is shady
If you want to know why this product has so many 5-star review, I can give you two reasons: 1) It works well; 2) They bribe users with free accessories in their packaging materials.

The product itself is fairly easy to install with some basic tools and looks good and works well in the kitchen. Sometimes the tray gets in the way and doesn't store conveniently, but without making the device much more complicated, there's really nothing to be done.

I knocked off two stars because I don't think much of their bribing buyers for 5-star reviews by offering free prizes and accessories. (A slip comes in the packaging that offers a drawing that you "enter" by leaving a 5-star review.) That seems like a clear violation of terms-of-service, or at the very least, the spirit of a free and open marketplace.

2. KP Duty Got You Down?
This rack is great if you must spend a lengthy amount of time in the kitchen because you can transform your existing ipad, kindle or other device into an "under-the-counter" media system. I never planned on buying an under-the-counter TV/DVD player, the reviews were poor and couldn't justify spending the cash on one. This little rack gives just about the same experience, but better. Of course you need to have a device to place on it, but since you are looking at this rack you probably already own something you plan on using with it. Why is it better than an under-the-counter TV? Well, it's more versatile. You can easily remove the rack when you aren't using it so it doesn't permanently clutter up your kitchen. Plus, you get to utilize your favorite device even more!

This rack has been handy to watch basketball games on the ipad via the directv app while cooking in the kitchen. It's no longer necessary to call into the other room "What happened?? Who scored? Pause it!" while...

Very Handy
Keeps the iPad off the workspace, which is important in my small urban kitchen, and works well in either landscape or portrait mode. It's able to hold the iPad despite the thickness of its case (Piel Frama). Although the rack can easily be tucked away, it's transparent and I usually leave it up. I use a screen protector (Speck) but have never found so much as a splash of ingredients on the screen, which I sometimes did when using the counter-based iPad holders that I have since tossed.

1. Sturdy, attractive, functional
I like to read during meals, so I bought the BookArc to hold my iPad 2 at a convenient angle. The iPad fits securely, with or without its smart cover, in both upright and landscape orientation.

This stand has some heft to it -- it's solid and substantial. I find it attractive enough that I just leave it on my dining table when not in use, like some odd, abstract art centerpiece.

The only flaw (if I can even call it that) is that with the iPad in the upright position, accessing the home button is awkward. There's a cut-out in the stand for that very purpose, but it's still a tight fit for my finger. Yet I don't see how this could be remedied -- making the cut-out larger would reduce the stand's weight and thus perhaps its stability. And of course in landscape orientation this isn't an issue.

Steve Jobs and the Apple team did it so well. Beautiful products, well constructed, packaged and far ahead of their time. You really get what you pay for when you purchase an Apple product.
Twelve South not only has the same concept but they also deliver. From the moment I opened the Amazon Box, I knew, just from the packaging, that I not only am going to get my money's worth, I am going to have an exciting "unboxing" moment.
Taking the BookArk out of the box, I immediately felt the weight- It is well constructed out of hard steel with rubber points were the BookArk meets the desk and on the top, for the iPad. It comes with two rubber inserts. One for the iPad Mini and one for the "regular" sized iPad. My Mini sits very nicely in the holder, with normal everyday tapping no problem.
