This Compact Stereos give to us some advantages, good reviews already proving the quality of this product, like this :
1. Who supports this product?
I installed this product in August, 2001, and on balance, I am pleased with it. Certainly, it is a great radio, and CDROM player, for a kitchen radio. It is loaded with features and vastly exceeds any kitchen radio I have used before it, including sound quality. Some other critics feel the sound is poor, but what are they comparing to? Heck, this is a kitchen radio, not a home theater! The best feature of all, in my mind, is that the radio is out of the way, as it is mounted beneath a cabinet. Kitchen deck space is scarce and I like to minimize clutter.

In the last few months, I have learned more, though. Though the best thing about this radio is the radio itself, the worst thing about it is the support behind it. Ironically, there are numerous, well-informed people who can help; but I had a devil of a time finding them. I expect support when I need it, and unfindable support is support denied.

2. A great product!
I received this as a Mother's Day gift, and I am very pleased with the quality of sound it provides and with all the smart features of this product.

The remote control is an awesome convenience - I leave the remote on the kitchen table and use it more than the actual controls on the radio. There is capacity for 10 pre-set stations, which is also a great feature, so you can easily flip to another station when you're in the mood for something new. All the features are included on the remote, so you can turn it on/off, adjust volume, change stations, and switch from AM to FM to CD without getting up.

Also, it was super-easy to install. The instructions were clear, and there was a cardboard template to tape to the bottom of the cabinet with pre-marked holes for drilling. It was installed in 10 minutes.

Best you can get to save space - but lacking still...
The good: digital tuning, decent sound (not great, but good) for the size, doesn't take up a lot of space. The bad: listen to the other reviews about reception - I can't get an FM station on this device that I can with every other radio (including my car) I use in the house - and I am only about 10 miles from the transmitter. Most stations come in just fine, but if you are at all concerned about an iffy station, you will probably not get it on this device. Last complaint - no volume indicator and the machine resets volume to low level every time you turn it off, so you have to hold the button and wait to get the volume you like everytime you turn it on. The ugly: no one else is making a comparable product. If you want to save space in the kitchen, for now this is the way to go. Anyone reading these reviews who has some money to invest - go find someone to build a *quality* space saver CD player! GE, are you reading this? Can you *show* us the volume level and leave them in...
